There’s so much hypocrisy involved in this law suit. First off, aren’t these the very same banks the government has been bailing out time and time again over the past couple of years? Why didn’t they just let them go bankrupt? What is the DOJ going to do after they win their lawsuit and are awarded a hefty financial settlement. Are they going to give the money back because the loss will cause the banks to go under? This whole lawsuit is absurd.
On top that, it was the Federal Reserve, acting as a branch of the Federal government, which caused the housing bubble in the first place. - Chicanofreakshowinfresno.

View the government’s filings against the big banks — they’re suing 17 of them — over here. Most interesting name in the list? “General Electric Company.” So, technically, the federal government (the Federal Housing Finance Agency) is suing MSNBC’s parent company. (src ProducerMatthew)
